that is interesting的句式结构是:主语十be动词十形容词做表语。句子的意思是:那很有趣。相似的表达可以是:It is interesting.或者是That is beautiful.等。主语十be十表语的句式结构中不单可以用形容词做表语，也可以用名词来做表语，如That is a student.那是一个学生。
that is interesting句式结构
（1）引起人兴趣的事：Someone or something that is interesting keeps your attention because he， she， or it is unusual， exciting， or has a lot of ideas
It is always interesting to hear other people's point of view.（知道别人的观点是件有趣的事。）
（2）很奇怪、与众不同：（humorous）strange or different
She has a lot of interesting ideas， but they're not very practical.（她有很多稀奇古怪的点子，但都不太实际。）
很多老外，特别是绅士派的英国人，当他要拒绝你的时候，用"That’s interesting"经常是幽默地表达「这行不通」的意思，保持职场的优雅，不那麽直白，这时一定要听得懂。
那是不是不能用interesting表示很有趣了呢
还是可以用，只是像Interesting这个字使用频率很高，意义就变得模糊。
当我们说"The book is interesting."时，就变得有点空泛，听的人不知道我们想表达的是什么，除非你想刻意製造一点悬疑让人摸不著头绪。
不用interesting，换具体一点的字：
（空泛）The book is interesting.
（具体）The book is intriguing. （那书很精彩，引人入胜，很多意想不到的情节）
The book is amusing.（那书很有趣，机智诙谐，很多笑点）
另外，Interesting和interested这两个字，十个学生裡有七、八个会搞错。我们来一张图搞懂其中差别：
interesting→很有趣
interested→对….很有兴趣
Interesting延伸的意思，大家熟悉的是「利息」，它还有一个意思是「股份」，例如："I have an interest in a startup company."（我在一家新创公司持有股份。）
这句话也可以解做「我对新创公司有兴趣」，但老外表达对事物的兴趣，很少用"have an interest"，较常用"be interested in／take an interest in"。句子真正的含义，总要在谈中才能真正理解
